Cimonne Rouse
Newborn Care Specialist and Postpartum Doula
NYC & Travel Support 16 years
The reason I became a Newborn Care Specialist is deeply personal. Twenty-one years ago, my sister had a traumatic experience during childbirth and witnessing that opened my eyes to how critical, compassionate and knowledgeable care is during such a vulnerable time. It inspired me to expand education in childcare so I could truly support families during this important stage. Helping parents grow their families with confidence, rather than feeling overwhelmed is one of the most rewarding parts of what the work.
Lashanda Dandrich
Postpartum Doula & International Board Certified Lactation Consultant
NYC 12 years
Hi, I’m LaShanda Dandrich, IBCLC. For over ten years, I’ve supported families across New York City and around the world in their feeding and postpartum journeys. As both a lactation consultant and postpartum doula, I bring together clinical expertise and compassionate, hands-on care to help families feel confident, connected, and supported as they welcome a new baby. Teaching and mentoring are also close to my heart. I love guiding aspiring IBCLCs as they develop their own style of practice, and I regularly teach lactation skills to doulas, midwives, and other birth workers who support families every day. Community is central to my work. I am a founding board member of Chocolate Milk Café National, a nonprofit dedicated to uplifting and supporting Black families; a co-founder of the Lactation Learning Collective, a space for shared growth and mentorship among lactation professionals; and a co-founder of Uptown Village Cooperative, which brings culturally rooted support to families in Harlem and Upper Manhattan.
Whether working one-on-one with parents, mentoring future lactation consultants, or building community networks, my mission is the same: to create spaces where families and professionals feel informed, supported, and empowered.
